With the popularity of lacrosse exploding in North America, it was a natural fit for the National Lacrosse League (NLL) to ink a deal with Sport Ngin. As we welcomed the professional lacrosse league to our platform, we began the process of crafting a custom site that utilized the full functionality of Sport Ngin.
The NLL was looking to create a destination for its fans to access anything from roster updates to game highlights in near-real time. We tapped the collective talents of our team to meet the needs of the NLL to create a product worthy of the pros.
Sport Ngin's power becomes even more apparent when it operates at the league level. The NLL utilizes our industry leading tools to streamline their standings, statistics, news articles, roster changes, and breaking news. Instead of going to any number of individual team sites to get their fix, users now have a single destination for all things NLL.
The integration of Sport Ngin Live - our live scoring application - is what generates the robust statistical information for the league. The NLL wanted a streamlined method of tracking data with as few steps as possible. Using Sport Ngin Live, league officials could score the game in real-time, and the information would automatically be fed into the league database. Users were then able to view anything from league standings and goal leaders to more complex data such as shooting percentages and assists per game.
With the data collected through Sport Ngin Live, users are now able to quickly view team leaders and player performance on a game-by-game basis. Each team's page provides fans with a centralized hub to follow roster changes, view highlights, and see team photos without ever having to navigate away from the league's site.
Looking for a way to allow its fans to immerse themselves in the season, the NLL wanted to create a fantasy lacrosse game. Sport Ngin paired with a fantasy sports company to interface their existing technology with the new-look NLL site. In its inaugural season, thousands of fans created teams, bringing them closer to the sport they love.
The NLL was already utilizing another service for live-streaming games, but didn't want the look of the third-party application to break the brand consistency that was being created. To solve the problem, we gave the other service's interface a makeover to match the new look.
As the percentage of users viewing content on mobile devices grows, the NLL wanted to ensure they had a site that could be easily accessed by fans' smart phones. A mobile site was developed that hosted all of the most prominent features of the full NLL website in a simplified and easy to navigate mobile site.
With 25 years of news articles and statistical data, there wasn't an efficient way to migrate the colossal amount of information. Our development team wrote a script to fully automate the process and kept the project humming right along.
